Yoga Exercise: The Sun salutation

Introduction

Start every day with the Sun salutation. It makes you strong, relaxed, joyful and full of energy!

When you just start I advise you to start slowly by doing the sun salutation three times.

If you feel that your body is reacting well, you can expand it slowly till seven or ten times.

It is important to lay down in the relaxation posture for a moment after you have finished the whole series. Feel the energy, which has been freed, flowing through your body.

The Sun salutation brings equilibrium on all energy levels: physical, emotional and spiritual.

All muscles, joints, glands, organs and your nervous system are stimulated.

Because heart and lungs have to work a little harder, they are also strengthened.

Because breath and movement are synchronous your thoughts will become more quiet by which you will relax more.

Description of the different phases of the sun salutation

1. Stand relaxed with your feet next to each other. Bring your hands in front of your breast. Follow the breath

2. Put your right hand on your left, bring them down. Look to your hands and exhale.

4. While you exhale completely, bring your hands next to your feet and your head in the direction of your knees.
