The small town of Phimai is a nice place to stay for 1 or 2 nights to visit the Phimai historical park and other interesting locations. Prasat Hin Phimai National Historical Park
This Khmer temple is older then the famous Angkor Wat complex in Cambodia. This Hindu-Mahayana Buddhist temple dates from the late 10th and early 11th century. It's majesty is really impressing.

Ban Prasat is situated about 20 km from Phimai, the oldest archeological site in the Khorat basin. At least 3000 years ago it was habited by an agricultural-ceramic culture. The excavation pits are situated near a beautiful lake.
