Guruji Hans Raj Maharajji has left His body at 2011-10-23. May we all express
in prayer our unspeakable gratitude for the life and Grace of Hans Raj Maharajji.
Maharajji’s Work Today
According
to him, in accordance with the new energies of this cycle which express God’s
Will, every man on this Earth has to do his utmost to live spirituality in his
daily life, along with his familial and social obligations. He must live with
his heart because the heart takes man naturally towards love, goodness, wisdom
and compassion. And God is hidden in each person’s heart. If man does not want
to look for God, then disasters of all kinds, of which we are only seeing the
feeble beginnings at this time, will happen repeatedly and become more and more
serious until man understands the lesson and heads in the right direction.
Return Home
What is the aim of all this? Man is a son of God and his
heavenly Father now wants him to get back his predestined position as a prince,
instead of delighting in a mediocre life characterised by ignorance, worry and
suffering. All this makes man a being who does not have access to true peace of
heart and happiness which nothing can disturb. The Bible story of the prodigal
son who had decided to leave his father’s home describes our present situation
very well. Once this son, who had voluntarily decided to leave, arrived in a
far-off country, he became so poor that he would even have liked to eat the food
which the swine ate. Horrified at his own situation, he decided to go back to
his father’s home, where they were happy to see him, and he once more lived in
abundance. This is the story of man, an angelic being who left the bosom of God,
his heavenly Father, and came to the Earth to attain a higher level of wisdom,
love and powers through experience and study. But these divine qualities can
only be acquired when one decides to find the God hidden within, who then leads
to God the Father, or the Universal God.
Passing Happiness Which Knows no Peace
Naturally some will say, “Personally, I’m very happy, thank
God !” Fortunately, all men experience earthly happiness, sometimes intensely,
over a more or less long period of time. Some even say they have been happy all
their lives, so much the better! But we will call this type of happiness,
however long it may last, “passing happiness which knows no peace”, a phrase
which expresses the duality that reigns sovereign over our present existence.
Whatever is not firmly anchored in eternal truth is inexorably submitted to
the law of impermanence – the law of time and change. Indeed, not only are
these periods of happiness inevitably followed by times of suffering or trials,
but even while one is living this earthly happiness, the idea that it will
inevitably come to an end is never far away. But added to this is the feeling of
worry concerning material things, health, death which will inevitably come one
day, and other cares which overwhelm those who have not attained divine wisdom.
Isn’t this happiness like a bittersweet fruit? How many men on this Earth have
true peace of mind? For one must not mistake passing joyous excitation through
worldly satisfaction (which, in a way is like the passing, artificial joy of a
drunk person) with true joy which constantly radiates from one’s inner being
as an unending spring.
The realization of this divine triple nature
That joy which surges from the heart and is independent of
any earthly cause, is the true joy that is an innate but veiled aspect of man.
Indeed, Eastern teachings say that this human nature is essentially divine, viz.
Beingness, Conscience and Beatitude, where Beingness includes the
concept of immortality and truth, divine Consciousness includes the
concept of wisdom and love encompassing and knowing all, and Beatitude
includes the concept of being as an unending source of bliss, with neither cause
nor purpose. This is what this cycle of the Parivartan is progressively
taking us towards — the realization of this divine triple nature. It is our
common heritage and it will be given back to us the day we realize our true
nature; it has been called Kingdom of Heaven in certain teachings or
nirvana in others. But whatever name it is given, it is the state of being
which a truly realized Master is endowed with, i.e. being one with God and the
Whole. However, it is certain that all men participate in the nature of God, but
we will say that man, in his present state of ignorance, participates in this
divine nature in the same way that a guest who falls asleep in a room where
festivities are going on, takes part in them ... Wouldn’t it be better for him
to be awake?
This divine happiness knows no end and is troubled neither by
clouds nor by any kind of worry, not even the fear of death, since one who has
realized his true nature knows that he is immortal. Naturally he will leave his
body in due time, but he does not fear that moment for he sees this body as a
simple vehicle which the Atma temporarily uses. This is exactly the same
situation experienced by every citizen who has a car and who knows that when it
is worn out, it has to be changed. Does the citizen fear that moment? No,
indeed! Furthermore, the Master is not worried at all about material things
because he will inevitably get whatever he needs, since God takes care of all
his needs, which, by the way, are reduced to a strict minimum due to the fact
that he has renounced any accumulation of material things.
Becoming a Servant for All
This new era therefore has nothing to do with going towards
the end of the world (we insist on this point) for the Parivartan has
nothing at all to do with that, but with starting a period of transition
preceding a new cycle. Naturally, as with all periods of transition, one
must adapt, and it is this refusal to adapt which brings dangers. Man and the
entire Nature must adapt to a new rhythm, to new vibrations which will rule
everything on the planet. But finally, when humanity as a whole takes the right
direction, tomorrow’s world will be better, for men will express more qualities
of the heart and will be closer to one another through solidarity and
cooperation, friendship, brotherhood and divine love. There will be more wisdom
and light.
In that way, the big problems like extreme poverty, blatant
injustices and large-scale violence which sap our present society will be things
of the past. But the future must be built step by step in the daily life of each
person through a kind, brotherly and loving attitude shown towards all beings
without any distinction whatsoever, for all men are the different little organs
of a unique body called humanity. When a single one of these organs suffers, it
is the whole body which groans, like when one little organ in the body of an
individual is affected, the whole body falls ill and suffers. Therefore one
cannot build a better world with attitudes of indifference, animosity or hatred
towards others, for they are quite simply destructive. That is why each person
should feel that he is everyone’s servant. And God will repay him a hundredfold.
A Time for Choice
So according to Maharajji, today the time has come to choose
— either we advance towards universal harmony or else we slip inexorably towards
chaos and the destruction of a large part of humanity through all kinds of
disasters, because of its inability to enter the new era. This is both a
collective and an individual choice. Each person chooses his destiny and through
this, weighs on the destiny of the entire humanity. A heavy responsibility
indeed! There is no question of frightening anyone, for to do so and to use
coercion are not divine methods. No authentic Master stoops to such negative and
cruel methods. Here, this is rather about presenting an exact picture of what is
at stake so one can choose with full knowledge of the facts.
Reach the Whole of India
The stakes are so high that Maharajji works day and night to
inspire man so that today will give birth to a future as brilliant as the sun.
He had travelled the roads of India for decades, but today, because of his age
and his work in the universal soul on the highest spiritual planes, he hardly
leaves the ashram. He is able to work for the good and protection of the entire
humanity thanks to his contacts on these high planes. However, instructing
seekers is an important part of his mission and consequently he still has Indian
and foreign disciples who he continues to guide in their quest. As for giving
public teachings or reaching people in their own localities and different
regions of India, he has entrusted certain swamis with this task. They are the
ones who carry his message and teachings to the different receptive souls. These
swamis serving their beloved Master are excellent and valorous workers.
But the world is vast, and everywhere we find the same divine
souls — children of God, not one of whom can be neglected, whatever the colour
of his skin, his religion, sex or social class! All are in the heart and
consciousness of the divine Master for whom they have the same importance and
value. To all he gives the same love which asks nothing in return, and it is for
them that he came to this Earth. All need to be guided.
That is why one day, at a time when Maharajji did not yet
have any foreign disciples at all, he stated to his Indian disciples that
foreign disciples were going to come, and in this way, the message and
teachings of the Sacha lineage would progressively reach the whole world.
The disciples to whom he had said this were very surprised, for they wondered
how this could happen, especially since Sacha Dham is a tiny ashram compared to
the big, and sometimes very big ashrams. Moreover, there was no written document
neither about Maharajji nor his ashram which could in any way be used to draw
attention to him. But Maharajji is a Mahatma, and whatever he says will
inevitably happen.
Creating a Network of Light in the Entire World
ShantiMayi
Foreigners
then started coming from the end of the 1980s, practically one by one in the
beginning and the stream increased year by year. To this day, several have come
from all continents to find the one who is their blessed guide. In 1988, an
American woman arrived; on meeting Maharajji, she understood that she was at the
feet of the one she had been looking for for so many years. Her devotion to
Maharajji and the steadfast pursuit of her sadhana enabled her to attain
the goal – enlightenment – in only a few years, in the early 90s. Her name was
ShantiMayi. What is curious, is that this enlightenment process was triggered
off when she was at work in a factory in Eugene, Oregon in the United States. As
we can see, she was not even in a church or a place of prayer. This shows that
God manifests Himself wherever there is a heart full of love which ardently
aspires to reach Him!
Prem Baba
In
1999, a young Brazilian, Prem Baba, who had gone on his honeymoon to India felt
greatly frustrated during his stay because his whole being was longing to go to
Rishikesh, which he had heard about. But why did he feel this powerful urge? He
went there with his wife and some friends. An invisible hand guided their steps
to Laxman Jhulla and everything worked out so that he would meet Maharajji.
There, facing the great, divine Mahatma, he understood why he had been so drawn
to Rishikesh.
A few years later he attained enlightenment. With Maharajji’s
approval, he has built a big ashram called Sacha Mission near Săo Paulo and now
has thousands of disciples. His scope of action has progressively gone beyond
Brazil to touch many other countries.
Homage to all workers
Furthermore, the Sacha lineage has many excellent and
valorous workers in India as well as in other countries, some of whom sometimes
work anonymously. Here, we have only presented those who work as Teachers
outside India, for their task is difficult in a world which more easily sees to
the needs of the body and emotions rather than to those of the soul. However, we
would like to pay homage to all those workers in whatever domain they work, with
all their heart and talents to serve the Common Good, under the aegis of the
Sacha lineage.
“The Earth has a good future. Are you ready to join this
Transformation?”
As one can see, the task of the lineage, directed by
Maharajji, presently encompasses the entire world and this diffusion will
increase with time. From the Indian root, centres are progressively being
established all over the planet. There are now centres in Europe, the U.S.A.,
Australia and Africa under ShantiMayi's supervision. There is another centre in
Latin America under Prem Baba's supervision. All these centres work together
harmoniously so that the entire humanity will become aware that the divine clock
is striking the time of the Parivartan or Great Transformation of
Consciousness, and that one must hurry to join in the upward movement of the
human consciousness and civilization. A short time ago, Maharajji declared, “The
Earth has a good future. Are you ready to join this Transformation?” This
wonderful future will become reality only if men and women of good will,
whatever their spiritual level, work with love, humility and perseverance to
bring this about.
Indeed, let us always remember that God, liberated Masters
and man work together for humanity’s growth. God and liberated Masters will
always do what must be done, for they are not influenced by maya or
illusion, and are motivated only by the strong sense of duty. But men (including
disciples) may not recognize the opportunities which exist at a specific time,
or may get lost even though they may have recognized these opportunities, or yet
may lose interest in the goal, simply through laziness. So the disciples who
represent the advanced part of humanity must give their heart, their talents and
their energy to help their brothers and sisters to go forward in the direction
of evolution. This will be their honour. If man in general, and disciples in
particular do not cooperate, God and the Masters cannot save humanity in spite
of itself.
Maharajji himself has never left India, but his spiritual eye
surveys the whole planet and he knows exactly what is happening. His work for
the Universal Good (also called “Common Good”) requires such knowledge, for
nothing is left to chance. He has sacrificed his life for this and has nothing
else in this world but his sublime love for all men. He also, is a great
avatar who incarnates both Vishnu and Narada. But Maharajji is the perfect
example of humility, purity and beauty! He has never claimed any title or any
name except that of a simple servant of Sacha Baba Kulanandji and God. Is there
a more glorious title than this?
