Myanmar is a wonderful country.

It has MANY Buddhist pagodas (temples), beautiful nature and friendly people.

For me it is an oasis in this, on many places, crazy world.

Myanmar a country of superlatives:

	Some of the most impressive sacred sites of Asia as the 2200 temples of Bagan, the wonderful Shwedagon Paya in Yangon and the incredible balancing boulder stupa called Kyaiktiyo.
	Beautiful nature such as Inle Lake, a peaceful and tranquil oasis, where people still live in harmony with nature. But also dotted with 1000 stupas all around. If you want to have a break of all the traveling there are the pristine beaches in Western Myanmar. In Western Myanmar there is also the magical city of Mrauk U. It has some resemblance with Bagan, but more rustic and with only a few tourists. In Bagan the temples are the main attraction, but in Mrauk U it is the whole scene and the people.
	The amazing friendly and hospitable people, showed me in every way, how happy they are about me visiting their country. See my tribute to the girls and women of Myanmar and the colorful markets of Taunggyi with many hill tribes.
	Mandalay and the ancient cities around it, full of Buddhist treasures to be explored.
	The Pindaya Caves with more than 8000 Buddha statues.
	Also the cities of Bago with many beautiful Buddha statues and Pathein, which has a relaxed, typical out of time atmosphere, are certainly worth a visit.
	The scarce visited Southern Myanmar has many enchanting destinations.

Update 2011-10-09: I am very happy that it looks like the democracy is really improving according to several articles at BBC World News. The Burmese, I have met, are beautiful people and the country is amazing. I want to give a tribute to Aung San Suu Kyi, one of these wonderful people, who stand so strong for what they see as right and are able to convey it to so many. But also to BBC World News, because their continuous coverage has influenced many people in the West for this cause.
