Some years ago I was struck by the beauty
and the sheer size, when I saw a documentary of Lonely Planet about
Myanmar and Bagan. One thing I knew for sure: “That’s a place I want
to go”.
To me Bagan is the apex of a civilization, like for instance
Angkor in Cambodia. These people created an amazing 2.224 monuments,
dating from Bagan's "Golden Period" (1044 – 1287) with such a simple
means. |
