Yangshuo - Li River

The karst mountain scenery in southern China is famous all over the world and painted in many ways.
Mountain scenery from the Li River even graces the twenty Chinese Yuan note.
Seeing these magnificent mountains, while meandering down the Li River in a boat or bamboo raft, is a wonderful way to enjoy this scenery.

Yangshuo is bordered on one side by the Li River, so it is easy strolling along the river and catch a glimpse of traditional fishermen with cormorants.
Yangshuo is easily accessible from Guilin, 40 miles (65 km) to the north, a major city in the province of Guangxi in southern China.

Stone Forest at Shilin

From a distance the Stone Forest really looks like a dense forest. As you walk closer it appears to be all stone pinnacles, instead of "trees".

It is vast sight, covering about 350 kilometers.

Innumerable steep and precipitous cliff’s peaks are standing lofty and majestic in the Stone Forest.
